1. Scope and operator
This policy covers the Signal Studio public website, Google Sheets tracker, and private connection service. Signal Studio is operated by the seller identified in the Etsy transaction through which the customer received the product.
For privacy or support questions, use the Etsy conversation connected to that purchase. Never send a TikTok or Google password, access token, or verification code.
2. Information processed
Connection and installation information
- A random installation identifier. The customer copy stores a random installation key in Apps Script User Properties; the service stores only a one-way hash of that key to authenticate requests.
- The spreadsheet name, granted permissions, and connection or synchronization timestamps.
- Short-lived OAuth state and TikTok access and refresh tokens.
- The TikTok app-specific account identifier.
Authorized TikTok information
- Display name and profile image.
- Follower, following, account-like, and published-video counts.
- Recent public-video identifiers, captions, links, posting times, and public view, like, comment, and share counts.
Information in your spreadsheet
Current tracker metrics and customer-created historical snapshots are written into the customer’s Google Sheet. That Sheet remains controlled by the customer through their own Google account.
3. How information is obtained and used
Signal Studio receives TikTok information only after the account holder approves the requested permissions on TikTok’s authorization screen. It uses that information to:
- Complete and maintain the authorized connection.
- Retrieve the limited account and public-video metrics selected for the tracker.
- Populate and refresh the customer’s spreadsheet.
- Run an optional daily synchronization when enabled by the customer.
- Protect, troubleshoot, and maintain the connection service.
Signal Studio does not use TikTok information to publish, edit, or delete TikTok content, and it does not request advertising access.
4. Storage and service providers
TikTok access and refresh tokens, the hashed installation key, and installation records are stored in a seller-controlled Google Apps Script service. The customer copy keeps its random installation key in Apps Script User Properties rather than sheet cells. Tracker metrics and historical snapshots are stored in the customer’s Google Sheet and Google Drive.
TikTok supplies authorized account data and Google supplies the spreadsheet and connection-service infrastructure. Signal Studio does not sell authorized TikTok information or use it for targeted advertising.
5. Retention and deletion
Connection data remains until the customer disconnects the tracker or requests deletion through the Etsy conversation connected to the purchase. Disconnecting requests token revocation and removes the service-side installation record and stored connection credentials.
Spreadsheet data remains in the customer’s Google Sheet until the customer deletes the relevant rows, tabs, or spreadsheet. See the Data Deletion page for step-by-step instructions.
6. Security
Signal Studio uses limited read-only TikTok permissions, restricted server-side token storage, a one-way hash of the customer copy’s installation key, and short-lived single-use authorization state. No online system can promise absolute security, but the service is designed to keep TikTok tokens out of customer spreadsheets and request only what the tracker uses.
7. Your choices
- Decline any requested TikTok permission.
- Turn optional daily synchronization off.
- Disconnect from the Signal Studio sidebar.
- Remove Signal Studio from TikTok’s authorized-app settings.
- Delete current metrics or history from the customer-owned spreadsheet.
8. Children, changes, and contact
Signal Studio is a business and creator productivity product and is not directed to children under 13. Users must also meet TikTok’s and Google’s eligibility requirements.
This policy may change when the service, its providers, or applicable requirements change. Material updates will be reflected by a revised effective date on this page.
